Perspectives
At its core, Uni highlights what makes people unique. We call these "perspectives". They exist on Uni as colorful dots scattered across your screen, sized and positioned to provide new insights on group dynamics. Often we think of these as things like race, gender, & sexual orientation. While perspectives can encompass these essential points of view, they can do a whole lot more as well...
Finding the right perspectives is what it’s all about. Being completely customizable, perspectives can expand to included anything from someone’s work-from-home status, to their DiSC assessment, or even their dietary restrictions. Any skill, trait, or preference that is relevant can be represented. As people participate in more surveys, they’ll accrue more perspectives, representing their many intersectional identities. They can edit their perspectives or choose not to share one should they ever feel tokenized. How they identify is up to them and all perspectives data is kept private.
Understanding perspectives is intuitive. The relative size of a perspective is determined by the number of people who hold that particular perspective. They are always displayed in aggregate to ensure that all responses are kept confidential. Perspectives of the same type are organized into what we call “sets”. (For example, Gen X & Gen Y are both part of the Generation set)
Check-Ins
Check-ins are a series of questions where people are asked to weigh-in with their perspectives. Each question can have a up to five quick responses and a chat for further discussion. Responses are always kept pseudo-anonymous, while comments are always credited to their author. There are three different types of check-ins...
Weekly Check-Ins contain thematic questions curated by DEI experts. They are intended to lighten the load of the facilitator while ensuring that progress is made even when things get busy. Administrators can preview, customize, and schedule these to fit any preexisting initiatives.
Quarterly Check-Ins function as benchmarks, against which you can measure your organization’s progress. They focus on identifying which perspectives feel they need to be more included, which have strong public support, and which new ones need to be be taken into account.
Custom Check-Ins allow you to take the perspectives you've already collected from running weekly and monthly check-ins and map them onto the decisions you face everyday. Allowing you to make more equitable decisions by getting input from the perspectives that matter and support your decisions with live data.
